Presentation from Nick Neynens - Red Bull X-Alps 2015 competitor

Wednesday 13 January - 7.30pm

The Commerce Club of Auckland, 27-33 Ohinerau St, Remuera

For our first club night of 2016 we are very fortunate to have a presentation from Nick Neynens, the only Kiwi to compete in the gruelling Red Bull X-Alps and who is fresh from some epic flying in the Southern Alps.

Many of you will have followed Nick's progress during the X-Alps race in July last year, where he came from last position on the second day to finish in a very creditable 10th place, beating a number of very experienced X-Alps athletes and getting dubbed the 'Comeback Kiwi' in the process.

Nick has also been pushing the boundaries with his vol-biv flying in the South Island recently, twice cracking the 200km mark within just the last two weeks.

Come along and hear first-hand what it was like to compete in the X-Alps, billed as 'the world's toughest adventure race' and hopefully get some inspiration for your own flying.

Nick will also be talking about his flying career to date and showing some photos from his recent vol-biv adventures in South America, so it's sure to be an entertaining evening.

For those wanting to know a bit more about Nick and some of the cool stuff he's been up to recently check out his blog at It's pretty inspiring and has some great photos, so is well worth a look.

Hope to see you on Wednesday night!

Graham Surrey,
President - Auckland Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club.

Cheap feed somewhere beforehand?

Anybody keen or got ideas/suggestions for a bite to eat before this?
