I guess it had to happen sooner or later. Due to the poor weather forecast for the Easter weekend,  the Auckland club get together and BBQ, and the regional comp have been cancelled.

The weather at the moment looks flyable on Friday and even maybe Saturday so if you still want to go you can still go and camp at the Squash club, but please follow the instructions given on the previous post.

!!! EASTER AT THE PAEROAS !!! APRIL 22nd - 25th

Yes, it's Easter at the Paeroas time again!

As we were so lucky with the weather last year it would be downright criminal not to give it another go this year.

The nice guys at the Waikiti Squash club have given us permission to use their grounds for overflow camping and parking. This is only possible because it is agreed with the Waikiti Thermal Pools next door that any parking/camping in the Squash club grounds pay the daily pool fee.

Hi everybody

Just letting you all know that i'll be running my last SIV course for the season next week in Kingston, Queenstown, as it looks likewe've got perfect weather for it,

If anybody is interested costs are $625 per person and I guarantee at least 5 flights of 900 meters with full comunication throughout the flights and dedicated safety boats, Transport up the hill is also included in the price as well as lunch on the days that we fly.

Photos BBQ Kario

Here are a few photo from the BBQ at Kario. The conditions came on magically in the evening and a few pilots flew till late. The BBQ was yummy, marshmallows plentiful, all with lovely company. A bunch of us stayed over-night in tents and vans; great fun. :-) Eva

Auckland Club Fly In. Are you coming? Let us know!

Okay guys and dolls,

the weather is looking promising, the barbie is ready and we are all set for the Auckland Club Fly In.

Join us this weekend the 5th and 6th at Kariotahi for some flying action. Take part in Ridge Races (GPS and non GPS classes) or just cruise around, and at the end of the day land for some sizzlers put on by the club. Bring some drinks, music and a fun attitude. Camp at the dunes and the next day do it all again.

The weather so far is looking good with light Westerly winds tending NW.

See you there.

Had a chance today to fly at Kamo at lunchtime as I was travelling south back to AKL. HAs been a few years since I've been there and dynamic wind was super light but thermals were triggering there so had a nice quick climb up to base and a short tour around the takeoff (no chance for XC as I was there with a colleague and we only stopped for half an hour).

Nevertheless it was a really enjoyable flight and can reccomend if you are up that way anytime soon to give the place a go.

Please check your address and contact details

Hi all,

It's that time of year when I'm sending members their helmet stickers for the 2011 season, so I'd just ask that you all check that your address and contact details are current so that you can continue to receive information from the club.
