General news.

Mid-winter club social event.

Hi all,

At last month's club committee meeting the idea of holding a mid-winter get-together at a buffet restaurant, such as Valentine's was mooted. I've created a poll to gauge the level of support for this idea amongst members before any further organising is undertaken, so please take the time to vote.

If you have any alternative ideas for a club social activity then please feel free to post a comment with your suggestion as well.

Food and drinks at Wings & Waves THIS Saturday!

Like every year, we invite all club members and their friends (even hangies) for some infamous Chili con Carne made by Reuben, some music and a catch up at our loft in Bayswater. We would love to see you all there, especially we since the annual social event at the Paeroas on Easter did not happen and due to not much flyable weather, we feel we have not seen much of each other. Time to catch up!

Please come by on Saturday, 11th June, from 6pm at the our loft in Bayswater! BYO drinks, we will make food.

Software to re-fly your great flights using your GPS Track Log and Google Earth.

Just had a go running multiple tracks, Adam, Evan and Jeffs flight from Moirs to Langs Beach.

Great fun. Watching them climb out from Moirs, then Jeff and Evan shooting off with Adam chasing. Then later when Evan stays inland while Jeff goes toward the coast and gets lucky and Evan fizzles out.

Going to try some of the tracks from Wanaka. The last task looks interesting.

Photo and Video clip competition

Wings & Waves is running a photo and video clip competition. Send in your best 3 pics and win some great prizes.

Photos BBQ Kario

Here are a few photo from the BBQ at Kario. The conditions came on magically in the evening and a few pilots flew till late. The BBQ was yummy, marshmallows plentiful, all with lovely company. A bunch of us stayed over-night in tents and vans; great fun. :-) Eva

Auckland Club Fly In. Are you coming? Let us know!

Okay guys and dolls,

the weather is looking promising, the barbie is ready and we are all set for the Auckland Club Fly In.

Join us this weekend the 5th and 6th at Kariotahi for some flying action. Take part in Ridge Races (GPS and non GPS classes) or just cruise around, and at the end of the day land for some sizzlers put on by the club. Bring some drinks, music and a fun attitude. Camp at the dunes and the next day do it all again.

The weather so far is looking good with light Westerly winds tending NW.

See you there.

Please check your address and contact details

Hi all,

It's that time of year when I'm sending members their helmet stickers for the 2011 season, so I'd just ask that you all check that your address and contact details are current so that you can continue to receive information from the club.

Just wanted to get rid of "Nelson PG/Kiting Accident" from the top of the Home Page.
