Paragliding in India

in

Apparently PG is banned anywhere in India at the moment due to the Commonwealth games at part due to a known Pakistani terror group that is thought to have bought PG's to do attacks with. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/article7000876.ece

Lets hope they have Gin cause we all know they wont even make the bom bout paddock !

Are we done with that gag yet.......? I don't think so !

AHGPC group Twitter account

in

Last season I set up the AHGPC group Twitter account as a way for club members to communicate flying intentions and assist coordination of flying trips. If you don't know about this then check out the instructions page.

This service has proven to be useful, but I think the usage could be better. Therefore I want to canvas your opinion about this service. Here is your opportunity to tell me how it can be improved and made more useful to you. Click on Read more just below, then vote in the poll.

Kario Track Working Bee a Great Success!

in

I'd like to thank all the AHGPC members who came along this morning to Kario and helped out in the working bee. The combination of 6-wheel truck and Mustang skid-steer loader was extremely effective. Instead of placing one 10-ton load of 65 Slag, we ended up ordering in three truck loads of the stuff. We have now filled in the worst of the pot-holes on the track, so 4WD vehicles will find it easier to get up to the launch site over the coming flying season.

Thanks, guys!

PG Comps for 2010/11 season

in

Here is the content of an article that will appear in the next Airborne Mag.

Note that I have proposed a date for at least one league comp to be based in ( or near Rotorua ) at the end of Feb but there is plenty of room in the calendar for short notice leagues to be run at any of our sites.

Easter Paramotor competition

in

If you were wondering why I wasn't at the Paeroas for Easter there were two reasons. First was a planned motorbike trip to the South Is, second was NZs first paramotor comp in Christchurch. No I haven't gone completely to the dark side but I have to say this comp was good fun. A little different starting and finishing every task in the same flat paddock. Quite social and definitely better for the spectators. There were 2 Australian reps and 12 Kiwis entered.

Easter at the Paeroas '10 AND NOW, REGIONAL LEAGUE!!

in

Yes, you lucky people it's Easter at the Paeroas time again!

AND NOW, WE ARE ALSO HOLDING A REGIONAL LEAGUE AT THE SAME TIME! Bring your gear, GPS loaded with waypoints and we will set tasks for you. This is probably the last chance to score points on the ladder for this season. Remember, your position on the ladder will be there all winter! Go for it!
